The Union Square Farmers Market (USFM) is a producer-only market, located in the heart of Union Square in Somerville, MA. We are proud that our market is considered one of the most successful in the state, with an average attendance of 2,800 during the 2024 season.
USFM is integral to the Union Square community:

FARMERS MARKET RULES & POLICIES
All prospective vendors must take the time to review in full the 2025 Union Square Farmers Market Rules & Policies. Vendors will be asked to sign acknowledging their understanding and agreement as part of the application.

NOTE: There will be no market on September 20, 2025, due to the 20th Annual What the Fluff? Festival.
III. Vendor Fees: ALL vendors must pay a $30 non-refundable application fee in addition to the following:
Season Vendor (May 11 - October 26): $1,650 per booth space
Biweekly Vendor (every other week from May - October): $825
*Start date determined by Market ManagerGuest Vendor: $85 per market
IV. Management: Managed by Union Square Main Streets (USMS) and Lizzie McCarty as Market Manager. Overseen by USMS Executive Director, Jessica Eshleman. Market Advisors are Liza Bemis, Hutchins Farm; Mike Katz, USMS Board Member; Tommy Nicewicz, Nicewicz Family Farm; and David Wadleigh, Kimball Fruit Farm.
VENDOR TYPES
● Season Vendor: A vendor who commits to attend the market Saturdays, from May 10 through October 25. Please note there will be no market September 20.
● Biweekly Vendor: A vendor who commits to attending the market every other Saturday, from May through October. Start date will be determined by the Market Manager.
● Guest Vendor: A specialty vendor who commits to the market on a day-to-day basis.
● Business Table: At the discretion of USMS, the market may accommodate for-profit organizations and companies that are located in or outside of the City of Somerville.
● Community Group: At the discretion of USMS, the market may accommodate local, non-profit 501c(3) organizations, government entities, and other groups with a community-focused mission. Non-profit organizations located outside of the City of Somerville will be charged a “Business Table” fee. Since Community Group tables are offered at no cost to participating organizations, no sales are permitted during the market.
Vendors with a brick-and-mortar business in Union Square will only be permitted to apply for biweekly or guest vendor type.
Neither vendors nor attendees may engage in promotion of religious groups, political campaigning, petitioning, or signature gathering at the Union Square Farmers Market.

SELECTION
All vendors, including returning vendors, must apply. Returning vendors will be given priority, but there is no guarantee of acceptance. Any incomplete application will not be taken into consideration. Applications submitted without an application fee will be deemed incomplete.
The final selection of vendors is based on the determination of which vendors will best serve the Union Square community, provide the right quality and variety of products, and enable USMS to best achieve its broader mission of fostering economic vitality throughout Union Square. Accepted vendors will be notified by early April. Vendor acceptance is at the sole discretion of Union Square Main Streets, Inc., and USMS reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any vendor, if in its sole discretion, USMS determines it is in the best interest of the Union Square community to do so.
CODE OF CONDUCT
All market participants, including vendors and customers are required to work cooperatively with Market Manager, USMS staff and volunteers, and the public. By agreeing to participate in the Union Square Farmers Market, all vendors agree to comply with the following Code of Conduct and consent to the enforcement of same by USMS as provided herein:
Verbal and physical abuse, including slander and libel, is prohibited
Weapons are strictly prohibited
Vendors must not engage in promotion of religious groups, political campaigning, petitioning, or signature gathering
Behaviors that disparage another participant or actions that unnecessarily interfere with other participant setups, sales, activities, or any other action that the market staff determines to be uncooperative in nature towards another participant, customers, staff or volunteers are prohibited
Vendors are prohibited from personal attacks or making false accusations about USMS staff/volunteers and/or other vendors at the market through business or personal social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter)
Vendors are prohibited from using or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol while in attendance at the market
Vendors are prohibited from smoking or vaping within market boundaries
Vendors shall not engage in any behavior not appropriate for a public setting including, but not limited to, use of crude, obscene, or abusive language and/or physical violence
