Katrina Jazayeri, owner of fan favorite Juliet, introduces Juliet social club, a new casual hangout spot serving up wine and small plates. What should we expect when visiting Juliet social club?
Juliet social club is an inviting wine and snack bar, in the ORIGINAL Juliet restaurant location. We are here for casual drop-bys, great conversation, interesting wines, and delicious snacks... all laid out in the comfort of home.
What inspired you to start a business?
I love throwing parties. I love company. And I love feeling good at work. Our mission with Juliet was meant to celebrate all of those things, creating great, fulfilling jobs for our team, and memorable experiences for our guests. We did all of that on a shoestring, in this little space, for years. Juliet has recently relocated to a larger location right next door, and it has been really fun to reinvent our original space, as a much more casual atmosphere.
What aspect of your business makes you most proud to be a business leader in our community?
We navigated the pandemic, we created more jobs throughout it, we have increased compensation to our team by multiples since opening in 2015… I could go on about the people and community!
How do you #LoveUnionSquare?
I don't just work here, I live here. And have for years! Juliet social club, which was once Juliet, was also once my daily coffee shop. I've loved to see the neighborhood grow and evolve, but also maintain so many of the neighbors and businesses that we came up with. Change hasn't been perfect here maybe, but it has been better than it could have been. I appreciate living, and doing business, as part of an engaged and diverse community.
