It’s the fifth annual Fluff festival in Somerville and our
madcap celebration continues to grow! "What the
Fluff? A Tribute to Union Square Invention" honors Fluff
creator, Archibald Query who invented the gooey sticky stuff
right here in Union Square in 1917. Join
our madcap tribute for all ages that includes musical, and
theatrical performances, games stage and DIY midway,
cooking contest and lots of tasty Fluff treats.

event! Join us!
"What the Fluff?" is presented by Union
Square Main Streets as part of ArtsUnion, an initiative
shepherded by the
Somerville
Arts Council and funded by the Massachusetts Cultural
Council. The event is made possible thanks to
generous sponsors, local business support, talented team
leaders and a
magnificent group of volunteers.
This year
we embrace that most enticing of Fluff creations, the
Whoopie Pie. Often chocolate but sometimes in
other flavors from vanilla to carrot to pumpkin, the
Whoopie Pie is not properly a sandwich, not quite a
cupcake, oddly not even a pie -- like Marshmallow Fluff
itself, it's in a class by itself.
Learn about the glorious tradition
of the Whoopie
Pie.
