Square Main Streets increases the vibrancy of Union Square’s
business district and surrounding neighborhoods through
active community collaboration.
Union Square Main Streets is guided by the of “Main Street
4-Point Approach” of Design, Organization, Promotion and
Economic Restructuring.
To better focus
our limited resources and to meet the specific needs of the
community and this organization within that framework we’ve
established our own 4-Ps of Priority:

Pedestrians – Making Union Square safer and more
pleasant for pedestrians, increase foot traffic through
events and encouraging businesses that meet the needs of
area residents.

Properties – Improve commercial building stock by
inspiring property owners, the gatekeepers of the
Square, with a positive vision for the neighborhood.
Investigate and encourage tools that foster
community-minded development.

– Facilitate education and neighborhood engagement in
economic development goals and visioning.

– Develop volunteer leadership within USMS boards and
committees.
